An Act to amend and reenact § 9-7 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
membership, officers and quorum of the Art Commission. 8 54]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
: ” That § 9-7 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 9-7. There shall be an Art Commission for the State of Virginia,
in the executive branch of the government, composed of the Governor,
ex Officio, and five persons appointed by him. One shall be appointed *
from a list of architects nominated by the governing board of the chapter
of the American Institute of Architects existing within the State; one
from a list of persons nominated by the governing board of the University
of Virginia; one from a list of persons nominated by the board of trustees
of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts; and * two from the State at large,
one of whom shall be a painter or sculptor. The members of the Commis-
sion shall be appointed for terms of four years each, except appointments
to fill vacancies, which shall be for the unexpired terms. The Governor
shall have authority to fill all vacancies in the manner of the original
appointments. The members of the Commission shall serve without com-
pensation. From their own members they shall elect such officers as may
be deemed proper. Three commissioners shall constitute a quorum.
