CHAPTER 187

An Act to amend and reenact § 22-818 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to the exemption or withdrawal of local boards and school divisions
from textbook program.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1 That § 22-318 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:

§ 22-318. Any county or city school board may in any year, by a
resolution duly adopted by a recorded vote and certified to the State Board
not later than June twentieth in such year, * withdraw itself and its school
division from the operation hereof, and upon such withdrawal such school
board and its school division shall not for the following school year or
thereafter be subject to the provisions hereof.
