An Act to authorize the Governor on behalf of the State to convey certain
submerged land to the city of Norfolk. CH 245]

Whereas, the city of Norfolk, Virginia, is about to undertake the con-
struction of a seawall in cooperation with the Corps of Army Engineers
and the United States Government, and
Whereas, it is necessary to construct a pumping station on the here-
inafter described land in connection therewith, and
Whereas, the hereinafter described land is submerged under a portion
of the Elizabeth River lying at the foot of City Hall Avenue in Norfolk,
Virginia; now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. That the Governor is hereby authorized to convey to the city of
Norfolk, Virginia, all right, title and interest of the State in and to: All
that certain piece or parcel of land containing .104 acres (4,534.24 square
feet) situate, lying and being in the city of Norfolk, Virginia, and being
more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the point in the southern line of property owned by the
Atlantic Ice and Coal Company where said line is intersected by the west-
ern line of Boush Street as said line is established northwardly from the
northwestern corner of Boush and Main Streets to the aforesaid point of
beginning; thence N 80°-02’-20” W, 73.36 feet along said southern line of
property owned by the Atlantic Ice and Coal Company; said line being
also the northern line of an old 46’ canal; thence S 9°-57’-40” W, 68.0 feet;
thence S 80°-02’-20” E, 60.0 feet to the aforesaid western line of Boush
Street; thence N 21°-04’-25” E, 69.30 feet along said western line of Boush
Street to the point of beginning.
§ 2. The deed conveying the aforesaid property shall be prepared by
the Attorney General and shall contain such covenants as may be appro-
priate under the circumstances.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
