An Act to authorize The College of William and Mary in Virginia, the
University of Virginia and Virginia Polytechnic Institute to enter
into a joint agreement and to contract with the National Aeronautics
and Space Administration for the operation and management of a
space radiation effects laboratory in the area of Hampton Roads,
Virginia.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. The governing bodies of The College of William and Mary in
Virginia, the University of Virginia and Virginia Polytechnic Institute,
or duly authorized committees of such governing bodies, are hereby au-
thorized and empowered to enter into a joint agreement on behalf of their
respective institutions for the operation and management of a space ra-
diation effects laboratory to be constructed by the National Aeronautics
and Space Administration in the area of Hampton Roads, Virginia. The
joint agreement shall be approved by resolution of the governing bodies
of each institution, duly entered upon the minutes thereof, and shall be
executed on behalf of each institution by an official designated in such
resolution. The governing bodies of said institutions, or duly authorized
committees thereof, are also authorized and empowered to negotiate and
execute a contract with the National Aeronautics and Space Administra-
tion for the operation and management of such space radiation effects
laboratory by said institutions in conformity with the terms and conditions
of the joint agreement.
