CHAPTER 591

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
15-16.6, relating to contributions by governing bodies of certain

counties.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
15-16.6, as follows:

§ 15-16.6. The governing body of any county having a population of
more than twenty-five thousand but less than twenty-five thousand eight
hundred twenty is authorized to make gifts and donations of property, real
or personal, or money to be appropriated from its treasury, to any associa-
tion or organization furnishing rescue and lifesaving service within or with-
out the boundaries of such county provided such association or organization
is nonprofit and nonsectarian.

2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
