An Act to amend and reenact § 88.1-442 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to life insurance.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 38.1-442 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
follows:
§ 38.1-442. A policy of insurance on life, taken out by the insured
himself, or by a person having an insurable interest in his life, in good
faith, and not for the mere purpose of assignment, may, unless the policy
provides otherwise, be lawfully assigned to any one as any other chose
in action, without regard to whether the assignee has an insurable interest
in the life insured or not *.
