CHAPTER 580
An Act to amend and reenact § 15-12 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to appropriations for advertising and giving publicity to counties by
their boards of supervisors.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
in That § 15-12 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 15-12. The board of supervisors of any county may appropriate
out of the general levy, except the school fund, in their discretion, a sum
not exceeding one per centum of their annual revenues, from all sources,
in advertising and giving publicity to the resources and advantages of
their county, and in securing and promoting industrial development of
such county. For the purposes set out in this section the county governing
body may make such appropriation, not exceeding ten thousand dollars
per year and notwithstanding the one per centum limitation hereinabove
emposed, to chambers of commerce or similar organizations within such
county, or to employ a suitable person to secure and promote industrial
development of the county.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
