CHAPTER 543
An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
14-125.1, providing a fee to be charged by clerks of certain courts of
record in felony cases.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
14-125.1, as follows:
§ 14-125.1. In any court of record in which electronic devices are
used for the purpose of recording testimony, for each case of felony tried
in his court, the clerk of such court shall tax as costs a sum not to exceed
ten dollars for each day or part of a day of the trial of such felony. Such
fees shall be paid by the clerk into a special fund to be used for the pur-
pose of repairing, replacing or supplementing such electronic devices.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
