CHAPTER 539

An Act to provide that certain cities which open a lake or other body of
water, constituting part of its water supply, shall not be lable in
damages for injury to property or persons resulting therefrom.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. Any city with a population in excess of 300,000 people, which
opens to the public a lake or other body of water, not heretofore opened
to the public, constituting a part of its water system, for purposes of fish-
Ing or recreation, shall not be liable in any civil action for damages occa-
sioned by injury to person or property resulting from the condition of such
lake or body of water or for the negligent acts of its employees in con-
nection therewith.
