An Act to amend and reenact § 18.1-89 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to the offense of entering dwelling houses with the intent to commit
larceny.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
tn That § 18.1-89 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 18.1-89. If any person do any of the acts mentioned in § 18.1-88,
with intent to commit larceny, or any felony other than murder, rape
or robbery, he shall be deemed guilty of statutory burglary and shall
be confined in the penitentiary not less than one year nor more than *
twenty years or, in the discretion of the jury or the court trying the case
without a jury, confined in jail not exceeding twelve months or fined not
exceeding * one thousand dollars, either or both.
