CHAPTER 504
An Act to amend and reenact § 1, as amended, of Chapter 230 of the Acts
of Assembly of 1958, approved March 7, 1958, providing for estab-
lishment of a special police force in certain counties.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 1, as amended, of Chapter two hundred thirty of the Acts of
Assembly of nineteen hundred fifty-eight, approved March seven, nineteen
hundred fifty-eight, be amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 1. The governing body of any county which adjoins a city having
a population of more than thirty-five thousand but less than forty thousand
and having located therein a Hustings Court, or of any county having a
population of more than sixteen thousand three hundred but less than
seventeen thousand, or of any county having a population of more than
forty thousand and wholly surrounding a city having a population of more
than ninety thousand, or of any county having a population of more than
sixteen thousand one hundred but less than sixteen thousand five hundred
shall have the power to establish a police force to be known as a Special
County Police Department.
An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
