CHAPTER 492

An Act to amend and reenact § 1, as amended, of Chapter 18 of the Acts
of Assembly of Extra Session, 1959, approved February 4, 1959,
incorporated by reference in the Code of Virginia by § 15-26.1
thereof, relating to expenditures by counties and towns to provide
sources of public water supply.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 1, as amended, of Chapter 18 of the Acts of Assembly of
Extra Session, nineteen hundred fifty-nine, approved February four, nine-
teen hundred fifty-nine, incorporated by reference in the Code of Virginia
by § 15-26.1 thereof, be amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 1. The governing body of * every county * and town * ts author-
ized to make expenditures from the county or town general fund in order
to acquire land, participate in the construction of dams and perform all
other necessary acts for the purpose of providing sources of public water
supply for the agricultural, residential, governmental and industrial devel-
opment of the county or town.

2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
