An Act to amend and reenact Chapter 669 of the Acts of Assembly
1956, approved March 81, 1956, which was codified as (b) of § 15-9.1
of the Code of Virginia, relating to employment of assistants to the
Commonwealth’s Attorneys in certain counties.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That Chapter 669, Acts of Assembly, nineteen hundred fifty-six,
approved March thirty-one, nineteen hundred fifty-six, which was codified
as (b) of § 15-9.1 of the Code of Virginia, be amended and reenacted
as follows:
§ 1. Any county adjoining three or more cities one of which has a
population in excess of two hundred and thirty thousand and any county
having a population of more than seventy thousand and adjoining four
cities in this State, may with the approval of the Compensation Board,
employ such assistant or assistants to the Commonwealth’s Attorney as
in the opinion of the governing body of the county, may be required. The
selection of such assistant or assistants shall be made by the Common.
wealth’s Attorney. The compensation for such assistants shall be fixed ir
accordance with § 14-66.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
