CHAPTER 450

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
54-446.2, to provide for the admission in evidence of the certificate
of the Chief Medical Examiner or an Assistant Chief Medical Exam-
iner in certain prosecutions.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
54-446.2, as follows:

§ 54-446.2. In any prosecution under this article, the certificate of
the Chief Medical Examiner, or an Assistant Chief Medical Examiner, or
a copy of such certificate when duly attested by either, shall be admissible
in evidence as evidence of the facts therein stated and the results of the
analysis referred to therein; provided that results of the analysis of the
drugs shall be made available to the defendant, or his attorney, at least
24 hours prior to the trial.
