An Act to authorize the Board of Visitors of the Medical College of Virginia
to convey, with certain covenants, a certain parcel of land with wm-
provements thereon to the Richmond Eye Hospital, Incorporated.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The Board of Visitors of the Medical College of Virginia, with
the approval of the Governor in writing first obtained, is authorized to
convey by general warranty deed to the Richmond Eye Hospital, In-
corporated, a certain parcel of land with improvements thereon described
as follows:
All that certain lot of land with two brick dwellings thereon in the
City of Richmond on the west line of 12th Street between Marshail
and Clay Streets, and described: ,
Beginning at a point on the west line of 12th Street 54 feet north
of its intersection with the northern line of Marshall Street, thence
running along the west line of 12th Street in a northerly direction and
fronting thereon 42 feet; thence at right angles in a westerly direction
between parallel lines 106 feet to an alley 20 feet wide.
BEING the same real estate which was conveyed to A. C. Carneal
by deed from M. W. Gayle and wife dated February 24, 1892 and re-
corded in the Clerk’s Office of the Chancery Court of the City of Rich-
mond, Virginia, in Deed Book 145-A, Page 193. The said A. C. Carneal
died November 10, 1936, intestate, survived by his widow, Lottie Leigh
Carneal, and two daughters, Mary C. Upshur and Edith C. Thornton, as
his sole heirs at law. The said Lottie Leigh Carneal departed this life
on December 11, 1948.
§ 2. Such conveyance shall be subject to the following conditions:
The property will be retained until other quarters are provided for the
State Medical Examiner; the property will be sold at the fair market
value to be determined by impartial appraisal; the contract for sale of
the property may set forth such additional terms and conditions as may
be mutually agreed upon between the Medical College of Virginia and
the Richmond Eye Hospital, Incorporated; the deed of conveyance shall
be subject to the approval of the Attorney General. .
2. The money received in consideration of such transfer shall be paid
into the State treasury.
