CHAPTER 342
An Act to amend and reenact § 15-562 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to special policemen appointed by circuit courts. rH 444)

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 15-562 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:
§ 15-562. The circuit court of any county, or the judge thereof in
vacation, may appoint special policemen for so much of such county as
is not embraced within an incorporated town located in the county, who
shall be suitable and discreet persons and who shall serve as such for
such length of time as the court or judge may designate, but not exceeding
* four years under any one appointment. Such person or persons 80
appointed shall be conservators of the peace in their respective counties.
CHAPTER 342
An Act to establish a wildlife sanctuary in the County of Princess Anne;
to prohibit the shooting or discharging of weapons therein, and to
provide penalties therefor, and to provide for posting thereof, under
certain conditions.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. §1. That the following described real estate, in Kempsville Magis-
terial District, in the County of Princess Anne, Virginia, is hereby de-
clared to be a wildlife sanctuary:
Beginning at a point at the intersection of Providence Road and
Military Highway; thence Eastwardly along the center of said Providence
Road to the intersection of Indian River Road and Providence Road; thence
Southeastwardly along the center of East Indian River Road to the inter-
section of East Indian River Road and Great Bridge Road (Route 190);
thence Northwardly along the center of Great Bridge Road (Route 190) to
the intersection of Great Bridge Road and Whitehurst Landing Road;
thence Northwestwardly along the center of Whitehurst Landing Road to
the Eastern branch of the Elizabeth River; thence Westwardly along
the meanderings of the Eastern branch of the Elizabeth River to the
boundary line of the City of Norfolk and Princess Anne County, where
said line joins Military Highway; thence Southwestwardly along the
center of Military Highway to the intersection of Military Highway and
Providence Road to point of beginning.
§ 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to shoot or otherwise dis-
charge any rifle, pistol, shotgun, bow, cross-bow, sling, slingshot, air
gun, spring gun or other weapon at, toward or upon any wild animal
or bird, or to otherwise injure or destroy any such wild animal or bird
or any nest or egg thereof within the sanctuary created by § 1 hereof.
Any person violating any provision of this section shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor.
§ 38. The Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries may post such
sancmuary, provided that signs therefor can be obtained at no cost to
the State.
