An Act to amend and reenact § 14-56.1,as amended, of the Code of Virginia,
relating to the compensation allowed individual members of county
boards of supervisors.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 14-56.1, as amended, of the Code of Virginia, be amended and
reenacted as follows:
§ 14-56.1. After January one, nineteen hundred and sixty, the
annual compensation to be allowed each member of the board of super-
visors of any county, to be determined by the board within the limits
hereinafter set forth, shall be as follows:
Accomack—not less than six hundred nor more than fifteen hundred
dollars;
Albemarle—not less than four hundred and eighty nor more than
nine hundred dollars with an additional sixty dollars to the chairman;
Alleghany—nine hundred dollars;
Amelia—twelve hundred dollars;
Amherst—not less than six hundred nor more than nine hundred
dollars;
Appomattox—four hundred dollars;
Arlington—three thousand dollars;
Augusta—not more than one thousand dollars;
Bath—not less than three hundred nor more than six hundred dollars;
Bedford—not less than two hundred fifty nor more than one thousand
dollars with an additional one hundred dollars to the chairman, and any
member thereof who is responsible for the management of any county
lake shall receive in addition to his regular compensation not more than
one thousand dollars;
Bland—not less than three hundred nor more than five hundred
dollars;
Botetourt—twelve hundred dollars;
Brunswick—not less than five hundred nor more than six hundred
dollars;
Buchanan—not less than six hundred nor more than * twelve hundred
dollars;
Buckingham—not less than four hundred nor more than one thousand
dollars;
Campbell—not less than two hundred and fifty nor more than six
hundred dollars with an additional one hundred dollars to the chairman,
and any member thereof who is responsible for the management of any
county lake shall receive in addition to his regular compensation not more
than one thousand dollars;
Caroline—not more than one thousand dollars;
Carroll—not less than four hundred eighty nor more than twelve
hundred dollars with an additional sixty dollars to the chairman;
Charles City—not more than four hundred dollars;

ollars;
Chesterfield—not less than three hundred nor more than twenty-four
hundred dollars;
Clarke—not more than six hundred dollars;
Craig—not more than four hundred dollars;
Culpeper—not less than two hundred and forty nor more than three
hundred and fifty dollars;
Cumberland—not more than four hundred dollars;
doll Dickenson—not less than six hundred nor more than one thousand
ollars;
doll Dinwiddie—not less than three hundred nor more than twelve hundred
ollars;
Essex—not more than one thousand dollars;
Fairfax—not less than six hundred nor more than three thousand
dollars, together with an allowance for the actual expense of secretarial
Services to be fixed by the board of supervisors, as the work of the board
shall require, but not to exceed * three hundred dollars per month;
Fauquier—not less than four hundred and eighty nor more than nine
hundred dollars with an additional sixty dollars to the chairman;
Floyd—six hundred dollars;
