An Act to authorize the State Board of Welfare and Institutions to sell
and convey certain real property, in exchange for other real property,
with the approval of the Governor, in order to straighten a boundary
line between land of the State Farm in Goochland County, and land
owned by C. F. Richmond. rH 425]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia: _
1. Subject to the approval of the Governor in writing first obtained, the
State Board of Welfare and Institutions is hereby empowered to sell and
convey by deed, in exchange for land to be conveyed to it by C. F. Rich-
mond, in form approved by the Attorney General, whatever interest 1t may
have in the following described real property:
All those two certain tracts or parcels of land situate on the north
side of State Highway, Route No. 6, in Dover Magisterial District, Gooch-
land County, Virginia, and lying adjacent to and on the southeast side of a
line shown on a plat of survey made January 11, 1960, by R. V. Lancaster,
Jr., Certified Land Surveyor, which line begins at the north line of State
Highway, Route No. 6, and runs N. 34° 5714’ E. between land of the State
Farm and land owned by C. F. Richmond and extended across portions of
land owned by the State Farm and C. F. Richmond to a branch so as to
form a straight boundary line between said two owners from said high-
way to said branch, as follows:
Parcel I: Beginning at the north boundary line of the State High-
way, Route No. 6, where it is intersected by the aforesaid boundary line
running N. 34° 5714’ E.; thence along said boundary line a distance of
54.93 feet; thence S. 23° 10’ E. 201 feet to said north boundary line of
Route 6; thence along a curve coinciding with the north boundary of said
Route No. 6 in a northwesterly direction 179.11 feet to the point of begin-
ning, being a triangular parcel containing 0.107 acre.
Parcel II: Beginning at a three-pronged poplar tree on a branch, be-
ing the northwest corner of the land described on said plat; thence down
said branch to the point of intersection of said branch and the extension of
the boundary line described in Parcel I above as running N. 34° 57’ E.;
thence S. 34° 5714’ W. to its point of intersection with a course described
on said plat as running N. 51° 03’ E.; thence back along said course run-
ning N. 51° 03’ E. to the point of beginning and estimated to contain one-
fourth acre.
2. The aforesaid two parcels of land constitute all of the land on the
north side of said Route No. 6 and south of said branch and lying on the
southeast side of said line running N. 34° 5714’ E., owned or claimed by
said State Farm.
8. The aforesaid conveyance is hereby authorized, as aforesaid, con-
ditioned upon the conveyance, by warranty deed to be executed by C. F.
Richmond and Marian D. Richmond, his wife, to the State Board of Wel-
fare and Institutions, of a tract or parcel of land containing approximately
one-third of an acre, triangular in shape, which lies on the northwest side
of said course running N. 34° 5714’ W. and which is described as follows:
Beginning at a corner 490.53 feet north of the north boundary line of
State Highway, Route No. 6, being the north extremity of a boundary line
between lands of the State Farm and land of C. F. Richmond, which runs
N. 34° 5714’ E.; thence N. 30° 55’ W. 108.9 feet to a corner; thence N. 51°
03’ E. to the point of intersection of said line and the aforesaid line which
runs N. 34° 5714’ E.; thence back S. 34° 5714’ W. to the point of beginning,
and being all of the land lying on the northwest side of said line running
N. 34° 5714’ E., owned or claimed by C. F. Richmond.
__ 4. The aforesaid conveyances are to be in consideration of each other
without the payment of money, and, will result in a straight boundary line
between the said two landowners and in settlement of existing disputes as
to the location of said boundary lines.
