An Act to authorize the Governor and Attorney General to execute, in the
mame of the Commonwealth, deeds conveying unto Lafayette Yacht
Club, Incorporated, certain formerly submerged lands in the Lafayette
River at Norfolk, Virginia. rH 6421

Whereas, in recent years the Lafayette Yacht Club, Incorporated and
Vernon T. Myers have reclaimed, by bulkheading and filling certain sub-
merged lands from the bed of the Lafayette River in Norfolk, Virginia,
abutting the property owned by them and they each desire to perfect their
title to such reclaimed lands by obtaining a conveyance thereof from the
Commonwealth of Virginia; now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The Governor and the Attorney General are hereby authorized
in consideration of the premises and the payment of the sum of one dollar
to execute, in the name of the Commonwealth, a proper deed of conveyance,
under the lesser seal of the Commonwealth, conveying unto the Lafayette
Yacht Club, Incorporated, all its right, title and interest in and to the
following described property, or any part thereof:
All that said parcel of formerly submerged land lying and being in
Norfolk, Virginia, and more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at a point on the north line of New Jersey Avenue at its
intersection with the west line of Llewellyn Avenue extended, thence N
69° 51’ W 10.50’ to a point, thence N 19° 58’ 30” E a distance of 1892.53’
to a point, thence S 64° 31’ 30” E 383.30’ to a point, thence S 27° 37’ W
232.81’ to a point, thence N 31° 50’ W 155.82’ to a point on a circle having
a radius of 128.73’, thence on an arc in a southwesterly direction on said
circle 287.63’ to a point, thence S 20° 09’ W along a line to the point and
place of beginning and being more particularly shown on a plat of survey
entitled “Land Accreting to the Lafayette Yacht Club by Virtue of Land
Fill into the Lafayette River” dated February ten, nineteen hundred sixty
and made by Langley and McDonald, Consulting Engineers, to which plat
reference is here made.
