An Act to amend and reenact § 38.1-291 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to certain exemptions from the requirements of §§ 88.1-282 to 88.1-289.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 38.1-291 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:
§ 38.1-291. The provisions of §§ 38.1-282 to 38.1-289 of this
article, with respect to insurance companies and their agents, representa-
tives and employees, do not apply to:
(1) Reinsurance contracts between insurance companies;
(2) Life insurance, annuities, accident and sickness insurance other
than group accident and sickness insurance, title insurance, and ocean
marine insurance;
(3) Insurance of subjects located, resident, or to be performed
wholly outside of this State, including insurance of vehicles or aircraft
principally garaged outside of this State;
(4) Insurance of the rolling stock and operating properties of rail-
roads or of any liability or other risks incidental to the ownership, main-
tenance or operation thereof, but not exempting office buildings and ware-
houses which are rated and insured specifically; *
(5) Mutual assessment fire insurance companies * ; or
(6) Bid bonds by surety companies in connection with any public or
private contract.
