An Act to provide for the appointment of an assistant Commonwealth’s
attorney in certain cities.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. Any city having a population in excess of eighty thousand but
not more than ninety thousand may, with the approval of the Compen-
sation Board, provide for employing such assistant or assistants to the
Commonwealth’s attorney as may be required. Such assistant or assist-
ants shall be appointed by the Commonwealth’s attorney and shall be com-
pensated as provided for assistants to Commonwealth’s attorneys under
§ 14-66 of the Code of Virginia.
