CHAPTER 515
An Act to amend and reenact § 1 of Chapter 18 of the Acts of Assembly
of Extra Session, 1959, approved February 4, 1959, which authorized
certain counties and towns to expend general funds to provide sources
of public water supply. (H 462]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 1 of Chapter 18 of the Acts of Assembly of Extra Session,
1959, approved February 4, 1959, be amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 1. The governing bodies of any county having a population of
more than twenty-six thousand six hundred but less than twenty-six
thousand six hundred seventy-five, and of any county having a population
of more than thirty-four thousand but less than thirty-five thousand and
of any county having a population of more than twelve thousand eight
hundred but less than thirteen thousand, and of any county having a popu-
lation of more than twenty thousand but less than twenty-one thousand
and adjoining a city having a population of more than forty-five thousand,
and of any county having a population of more than thirteen thousand five
hundred but less than fourteen thousand fifty, and of any county having a
population of more than ninety-nine thousand and less than one hundred
thousand, and of any county having a population of more than twenty-
eight thousand and not more than twenty-nine thousand, and of any town
in such county, are authorized to make expenditures from the county or
town general fund in order to acquire land, participate in the construc-
tion of dams and perform all other necessary acts for the purpose of pro-
viding sources of public water supply for the agricultural, residential,
governmental and industrial development of the county or town.
