CHAPTER 467

An Act to amend and reenact § 19-129 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to charge to grand jury.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 19-129 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:

§ 19-129. The grand jury, after being sworn, shall be charged by the
judge of the court and shall then be sent to their room. No person sum-
moned pursuant to §§ 8-185 through 8-192 shall be present in the court
room when said grand jury 18 charged; and the charging of said grand
jury in violation of this provision shall constitute reversible error in any
criminal case tried by a jury summoned pursuant to §§ 8-185 through
8-192.
