CHAPTER 441

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 54-
44.2, providing what shall be deemed reasonable care on the part of an
attorney at law in certain instances.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
54-44.2 as follows:

§ 54-44.2. Any attorney at law who in the examination of records in
the office of the clerk of any court in this State relies upon the correctness
of any index found in such office, whether it be the original index prepared
by the clerk or by persons other than the clerk, shall be deemed to have
used reasonable care in the selection of the index.
