CHAPTER 420

An Act to amend and reenact § 56 of Chapter 189 of the Acts of As-
sembly of 1902-8-4, approved April 30, 1908, as amended, the chap-
ter providing a charter for the town of Warrenton, and the section
relating to town levies.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 56 of Chapter 189 of the Acts of Assembly of 1902-3-4, ap-
proved April 30, 1903, as amended, be amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 5 The council shall annually order a levy * on all real estate
within said town not exempt by law from State taxation, and on all such
personal property and other subjects as may at the time be subject to
taxation by this charter * , provided that the tax rate existing on January
T, 1960, shall not be raised until after the election of a new council on
une 30, 1961.
