An Act to authorize the city of Suffolk to sell and convey or lease certain
city-owned lands, with the improvements thereon, known as the City
Hall and the Municipal Building. rH 65]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1 § 1. The city of Suffolk is hereby authorized and empowered, when-
ever in the judgment of its Council it is to the interest of the city so to do,
to sell and convey, or lease, in the manner prescribed by law, for such
consideration and on such terms and conditions as said Council shall deem
proper, the city-owned lands, with the improvements thereon, situated in
the city of Suffolk, and known as the City Hall and the Municipal Build-
ing, or either of them, or any part thereof, said City Hall property being
situated on the east side of North Main Street and extending eastwardly
therefrom a distance of one hundred and ninety feet and being bounded
on the north by the land of R. R. Woodward and others, on the east by
other land of the city of Suffolk, on the south by the land of Carl Schadel
and T. Cherry Schadel, and on the west by North Main Street, and said
Municipal Building property being situated at the southeast corner of the
intersection of rket Street and North Saratoga Street and being
bounded on the north by Market Street, on the east and south by the land
of Felix J. Troiano and others, and on the west by North Saratoga Street.
§ 2. Nothing herein contained shall be construed as affecting the
powers of, and restrictions upon, the city of Suffolk, now provided by law,
relating to the granting of franchises by said City or to selling and con-
veying or leasing any real estate owned by said City.
