CHAPTER 372
An Act to amend and reenact § 16.1-90 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
the powers of courts not of record to take recognizances. ($17)

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
L That § 16.1-90 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 16.1-90. Judges of courts not of record may, upon the continuance
of any case, require the witnesses or any of them, to enter into recog-
nizance in such penalty as the judge may deem proper, either with or
without security, for their appearance at a subsequent date to give evi-
dence in the case, such recognizance to conform to the requirements of
§§ *19.1-127 to *19.1-129 for taking recognizance of witnesses.
2. This act shall become effective on July 1, 1960.
