CHAPTER 281

An Act to amend and reenact § $8.1-296 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to licensing requirements for certain insurance agents. CH 499]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
an That § 38.1-296 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as

ollows:

§ 38.1-296. Every individual who desires to obtain a license as an
agent to solicit, negotiate or effect any kind of insurance defined and
classified in Article 2 of Chapter 1 of this title except life insurance, an-
nuities, accident and sickness insurance, fraternal benefit insurance, mutual
assessment fire insurance as defined in Chapter 15 of this title, ocean marine
insurance, * title insurance, and baggage insurance for individuals sold by
ticket-selling agents of a railroad or steamship company, carrier by air,
or public bus carrier, shall first obtain a certificate of qualification from
the Commission.
