An Act to amend and reenact § 8-898 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
when suit to enforce lien of judgment is barred in equity. rH 408]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
a That § 8-393 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
8-398. No suit shall be brought to enforce the lien of any judgment
heretofore or hereafter rendered upon which the right to issue an execution,
or bring a scire facias, or an action, is barred by §§ 8-396 and 8-397, nor
shall any suit be brought to enforce the lien of any judgment, heretofore
or hereafter rendered, against lands which have been conveyed by the
judgment debtor to a grantee for value, unless the same be brought within
ten years from the due recordation of the deed from such judgment
debtor to such grantee and unless a notice of lis pendens shall have been
recorded in the manner provided by § 8-142 before the expiration of such
ten-year period. This section so far as it affects such grantees for value or
those claiming under them, shall apply as well to judgments in favor of
the Commonwealth as to other judgments.
