An Act to amend and reenact § 62-183 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
the throwing or dumping of dead animals, bait, refuse or garbage in
streams and open waters above tidewater.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
a That § 62-188 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 62-183. If any person knowingly or wilfully casts any dead animal,
or any other noxious substance or matter, or what is commonly known as
bait, into any water course of the State, or if any person dump or throw,
or cause to be dumped or thrown, any garbage, refuse or other like mate-
rial into any open public stream of this State above tidewater, by which
the health of any person along the water course is affected or the water
is rendered impure or offensive, or by which rights of lower owners are
interfered with, he shall be fined not less than ten nor more than fifty
ollars.
