An Act to amend and reenact §§ 2-174 and 2-198 of the Code of Virginia,
relating to Comptroller’s duties with reference to certain records
and certain claims against the State; and to repeal §§ 2-164 and
2-171, relating to certain accounts of the Comptroller. rH 258]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That §§ 2-174 and 2-193 of the Code of Virginia be amended and
reenacted as follows:
2-174. The Comptroller may, from time to time, arrange in boxes
all such old books and papers belonging to his office, as in his opinion
may be dispensed with for ordinary use or reference, and deposit such
boxes, with appropriate labels, in some * suitable storage space, taking a
list or schedule of the books and papers so put in boxes, and preserving such
list in his office; provided, that any such records which are more than two
years old which have been audited by the Auditor of Public Accounts, and
of which microfilm copies have been made and receipt given to the Auditor
of Public Accounts that such microfilm copies have been duly made and
stored in proper storage vault, may, in the discretion of the Comptroller,
be destroyed, without regard to the provisions of § 2-6.
§ 2-193. Any person having any pecuniary claim against the Com-
monwealth upon any legal ground may present the same to the Comp-
troller *.
2. That §§ 2-164 and 2-171 of the Code of Virginia are repealed.
