CHAPTER 14

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 15-
854.1 validating proceedings had in the preparation, certification and
adoption of zoning ordinances in counties prior to J anuary one, nine-
teen hundred fifty-nine.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
15-854.1 as follows:

§ 15-854.1. All proceedings had in the preparation, certification and
adoption of zoning ordinances in counties prior to January one, nineteen
hundred fifty-nine, which shall have been in substantial compliance with
the provisions of this article are validated and confirmed, and all such
zoning ordinances adopted or attempted to be adopted pursuant to the pro-
visions of this article are declared to be validly adopted and enacted, not-
withstanding any defects or irregularities in the adoption thereof.

2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
