CHAPTER 17

An Act to amend and reenact § 16.1-48 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to clerk of circuit court serving as clerk of county court in certain
counties.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

i That § 16.1-43 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:

§ 16.1-48. In any county having a density of population in excess of
five thousand per square mile, or in any county adjoining any such county,
the clerk of the circuit court of the county and the deputy clerks of such
court may be appointed and serve as clerk and deputy clerks, respectively,
of the county court of such county.
