CHAPTER 616

AN ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a new section numbered
16.1-206.1, providing for reimbursement by the State to counties of a
portion of expenditures for secretarial assistance to juvenile court
probation officers.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a new section num-
bered 16.1-206.1 as follows:
§ 16.1-206.1. When a county provides separate probation service for
its juvenile and domestic relations court by employment of a probation
officer or officers for such court, one-half of any expenditures made by
such county for secretarial and stenographic assistance to such probation
officer or officers shall be reimbursed to such county by the State. Such
reimbursement shall be made by the State Treasurer out of funds appro-
priated for the payment of criminal costs.
