CHAPTER 610

AN ACT to authorize the State Hospital Board to have research into the
causes of mental iliness and mental deficiency conducted at the several
institutions under its control.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The State Hospital Board is hereby authorized to have con-
ducted at the several institutions under its control research into the causes
of mental illness and mental deficiency. In such research programs the
Board shall make use, insofar as practicable, of the services and facilities
of the Medical School of the University of Virginia and the Medical College
of Virginia and the hospitals allied with each such medical school.

§ 2. The Board shall expend for the purposes set forth in § 1 such
moneys as shall be provided therefor by law.
