AN ACT to amend and reenact § 1 of Chapter 601 of the Acts of Assembly
of 1956, approved March $1, 1956 which created a commission to pro-
vide specifications for, and to approve, a suitable marker to Chief
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 1 of Chapter 601 of the Acts of Assembly of 1956, approved
March 31, 1956, be amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 1. There is hereby created a commission to provide specifications
for, and to approve, a marker or other memorial to Chief Justice John
Marshall and to select an appropriate site therefor * in the county of his
birth. The commission shall consist of five persons who shall be appointed
by the Governor. The Commission shall elect one of its members as chair-
man. Members of the Commission shall receive no compensation for their
service thereon but shall be paid their necessary traveling and other ex-
penses incurred in the performance of their duties.
