CHAPTER 44

AN ACT to amend and reenact § 22-82 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
appointment and term of school division superintendents. 8 41]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

i That § 22-32 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:

§ 22-32. The superintendents in office on June nineteenth, nineteen
hundred and forty-six shall continue therein until their terms expire.
Within sixty days before May first, nineteen hundred and forty-five and
every four years thereafter there shall be appointed by the school board
or boards of each school division, one division superintendent of schools
who shall be selected from * the entire list of eligibles certified by the
State Board and shall hold office for four years from the first day of July
following his appointment. *
