CHAPTER 413

An Act to amend and reenact § 62-9.1 of the Code of Virginia, which

defines terms used in connection with the statement of the State policy
aters,

as to waters [H 433]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 62-9.1 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
follows:

§ 62-9.1. Definitions.—As used in this Chapter, the following terms
shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them:

(a) “Water” includes all waters * , on the surface and under the
ground, wholly or partially within or bordering the State or within its
jurisdiction and which affect the public welfare. .

(b) “Beneficial use” means domestic, agricultural and commercial
and industrial uses.
