CHAPTER 379

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
16.1-48.1, relating to supplemental salaries of judges, clerks, deputies
and clerical employees of circuit and county courts in certain counties.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
16.1-43.1 as follows:

§ 16.1-43.1. In any county having the executive, manager, or other
optional form of government in operation, and where the clerk of the
circuit court is also clerk of the county court and/or the juvenile and
domestic relations court, the governing body of such county may supple-
ment the salaries of the judges of such courts and the clerk, and deputies,
and other clerical employees thereof, and in any such county having a
personnel and/or retirement system, all deputy clerks and clerical em-
ployees of such court may be classified under the county system on the
same basis as other county employees; but nothing in this section shall
affect the salary paid to such officers and employees by the State.
