CHAPTER 364
AN ACT to amend and reenact § 28-1 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to annual reports of boards of visitors and trustees of State educational
institutions.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
a That § 23-1 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 23-1. It shall be the duty of the president or chairman of the board
of visitors or trustees of every State institution which is educational in
its character to cause to be made out by the superintendent, president,
principal or other proper officer of such institution, and forwarded to the
office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction and State Council of
Higher Education on or before the first day of October of each year a re-
port for the year ending the thirtieth of June preceding. Such report
shall set forth the condition and progress of the particular institution ; the
number of professors, assistant teachers, and other officers, and the com-
pensation of each; the whole number of students in attendance; the courses
of instruction, academic, professional, or technical; the means and methods
of instruction; the number of students in the different classes; the terms
of tuition; the number of students admitted free of charge for tuition;
the kind and amount of all funds and endowments yielding an income;
the annual income from all sources, and the items thereof; the amount of
expenditures, and the items thereof; and such other information as may
be deemed necessary to a full exhibit of the affairs and conditions of such
institution.
