CHAPTER 360

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
15-709.1, to impose certain conditions to conveyances of real estate to

counties.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
15-709.1 as follows:

§ 15-709.1. Every deed purporting to convey real estate to a county
shall be in a form approved by the Commonwealth’s Attorney for the
county to which such conveyance is made. No such deed shall be valid
unless accepted by the county, which acceptance shall appear on the face
thereof and shall be executed by a person authorized to act on behalf of
the county pursuant to a resolution duly adopted by the governing body
of such county; provided, however, that the provisions of this section shall
