Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
14-56.1, to prescribe the compensation of members of the board of
supervisors of each county; and to repeal §§ 14-56 and 14-57, as
amended, of the Code of Virginia, relating to compensation of mem-
bers of boards of supervisors of counties. IH 34]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
6.1 as follows:
§ 14-56.1. After January one, nineteen hundred and sixty, the
ual compensation to be allowed each member of the board of super-
rs of any county shall be as follows:
Accomack—six hundred dollars;
Albemarle—not less than four hundred and eighty nor more than nine
hundred dollars with an additional sixty dollars to the chairman;
Alleghany—nine hundred dollars;
Amelia—twelve hundred dollars;
Amherst—not less than six hundred nor more than seven hundred
fifty dollars;
Appomattox—four hundred dollars;
Arlington—three thousand dollars;
Augusta—not more than one thousand dollars;
Bath—not less than three hundred nor more than six hundred dollars ;
Bedford—not less than two hundred fifty nor more than six hundred
dollars with an additional one hundred dollars to the chairman,
and any member thereof who is responsible for the management
of any county lake shall receive in addition to his regular com-
pensation not more than one thousand dollars;

2. §§ 14-56 and 14-57, as amended, of the Code of Virginia, are repealed.
8. These additions and repeals shall be effective on and after January
one, nineteen hundred and sixty.
