CHAPTER 332

AN ACT to amend and reenact § 15-229 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to representation in General Assembly of counties and cities con-
solidating under law.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
ait That § 15-229 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as

ollows:

§15-229. For the purpose of representation in the General Assembly
the existing senatorial and house districts shall continue until changed
in accordance with law, with the consolidated city or county being deemed
a part of each existing senatorial and house district of which the several
consolidating subdivisions were a part; provided, that the entire district
is within the consolidated city or county and provided, further, that
where a portion of a district is within the consolidated city or county such
portion shall remain a part of the existing senatorial and house district
of which the former subdivision was a part.
