CHAPTER 29
AN ACT to amend and reenact § 30-6 of he Code of Virginia, relating to
privilege of members of the General Assembly, clerks and assistants.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
a That § 30-6 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 30-6. During the session of the General Assembly, and for five days
before and after the session, a member of the General Assembly, the clerks
thereof and their assistants shall be privileged from being taken into
custody or imprisoned under any process except as provided in the follow-
ing section; nor shall such persons for such periods of time be subject to
process as a witness in any case, civil or criminal.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
