An Act to amend and reenact § 8-178, as amended, of the Code of Vir-
ginia, relative to exemptions from jury duty. CH 488]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 8-178, as amended, of the Code of Virginia, be amended and
reenacted as follows:
§ 8-178. The following shall be exempt from serving on juries in
civil and criminal cases:
(1) The Governor and Lieutenant Governor of the State,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. §1. The board of supervisors of Culpeper County is hereby author-
ized to convey to the Culpeper Volunteer Fire Company, Inc., and the Cul-
peper Rescue Squad, Inc., either jointly or severally, the following described
tract of property in the town and county of Culpeper: .
Beginning at A on the plat, a point in the south line of Davis St.,
corner with Miller Est.; thence with the line of the Miller Est. S 2014 W
92.0’ to B, corner with the Miller Est. in the north line of an alley; thence
with the north line of the alley N 6914 W 81.5’ to C, corner in the north
line of the alley with Lot +1; thence with Lot #1 N 201% E 92.0’ to D,
corner in the south line of Davis St.; thence with the south line of Davis
St. S 6914 E 81.5’ to the beginning, and containing 7498 square feet.
Being the same property shown upon a certain plat of survey made
by C. T. Guinn, Jr., and a part of the property conveyed to Culpeper
County by the Trustees of the Culpeper Methodist Church by deed dated
December 11, 1957, and recorded in Deed Book 148, page 358, in the Clerk’s
Office of Culpeper County, Virginia.
The board of supervisors may convey to the above grantees all or any
part of the hereinabove described property, subject to the approval of the
judge of the circuit court of the county.
§ 2. The conveyance to the above described grantees may be without
any money consideration and shall be for the purpose of the construction
on such property by such grantees of such improvements as will facilitate
the operations of such grantees and which will be for the benefit of the
people of Culpeper County. The board of supervisors may provide that the
property shall revert to the county if not used for such purposes.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
