CHAPTER 225

AN ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
8-24.1, relating to the time within which an action may be brought for
damages suffered as the result of the treatment of public water sup-
plies by fluoridation.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
8-24.1 as follows:

§ 8-24.1. The provisions of § 8-24 shall not apply to any action for
damages which is based on the treatment of a public water supply with
sodium fluoride or any other substance containing fluorine, but such
action shall be brought within five years next after the right to bring the
same shall have accrued. No provision of any city charter shall be con-
strued to reduce the period within which such action may be brought.
