AN ACT to amend and reenact § 58-258 of the Code of Virgnia, relating to
the alteration of a license when the place of business is canal _

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
Pi That § 58-258 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 58-258. License may be altered when place of business changed.—
When a person has obtained a license to carry on any business, employment
or profession at any definite place in the commissioner’s county or city and
desires to remove to any other place in the same county or city where his
license was granted and wishes his license altered accordingly, the com-
missioner who originally issued the license shall make such alteration.
When a merchant has obtained a State merchants’ license to carry on
a mercantile business at a definite place in the commissioner’s county or
city and desires to remove to a place in another county or city and
wishes his merchants’ license altered accordingly, the commissioner who
originally issued the license shall make such alteration, whereupon the
licensee shall apply to the commissioner of the county or city to which he
has removed for a signed notation on the license stating that the commis-
sioner has seen the alteration. In such case, the merchant shall not be
deemed to be a beginner for State merchants’ license tax purposes at the
location in the county or city to which he has removed.
