An Act to amend and reenact § 36-4.1 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
elections under the “Housing Authorities Law”. (H 278]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
That § 36-4.1 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 36-4.1. (1) If an election is called for under § 36-4, either by
resolution of the governing body or upon the petition of one hundred free-
holders as therein provided, the election shall be held not less than sixty nor
more than ninety days after it is called by the governing body of the county.
The question on the ballot in such election shall be:

The Ballots shall be printed, the returns canvassed, and the results
certified as provided in § 24-141
(2) If a majority of the qualified voters in such election shall indicate
that there is a need for such authority, then the same shall be empowered
to transact business and exercise the powers conferred by this chapter.
