An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding section numbered
6-192.1, relating to notice of meetings of shareholders and members
of building and loan associations. TH 246]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding section numbered
6-192.1 as follows:
§ 6-192.1. A building and loan association shall either publish a
notice of its annual meeting or special meetings of shareholders and mem-
bers once a week for the two successive calendar weeks (in each instance
on any day of the week) immediately prior to the week in which such
annual meeting or special meeting shall convene, in a newspaper printed
in the English language and of general circulation in the city or county
in which the home office of the building and loan association is located,
or mail a copy of such notice, postage prepaid, at least fifteen days and
not more ‘than thirty days prior to the date on which such annual or
special meeting shall convene to each of its members of record at his last
address appearing upon its books. Such notice shall state the name of the
building and loan association, the place of the annual or special meeting
and the time when it shall convene. A similar notice shall be posted in a
conspicuous place in each office of such building and loan association
during the fourteen days immediately preceding the date on which such
annual or special meeting shall convene.
