AN ACT to amend the Code:of Virginia by adding a section numbered
55-184.1, to validate certain certificates of acknowledgment to deeds
and other writings.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
55-134.1 as follows:
§ 55-184.1. All certificates of acknowledgment to deeds and other
writings taken and certified prior to March one, nineteen hundred and
fifty-six, by a person who was appointed as a Notary Public for the State
at large by the Governor but who failed to qualify as provided by law
